I Won't Get Fooled Again
NOTE: I Won't Get Fooled Again was inspired by an unattributed image shared on social media; a Google reverse image search indicated that the image depicted a 1930s oil by Russian artist Konstantin Somov

After commencing work on this Master Study, the artist did additional research in preparation for listing the piece and discovered that the source image was likely all or in part generated by Artificial Intelligence

Should the work be abandoned? The artist solicited the opinions of  his fans and collectors on Facebook, and the consensus was to complete the piece and tell the story of how it came about— a resulting work that couldn't have happened the way it happened before the 2020s that is unmistakably the work of Gladstone, regardless of the source image

• Made with watercolor, gouache, charcoal, pen-and-inks and watercolor pencils with sgraffito (scraping) on clay-coated paper
• Measures 10-7/8 by 10-5/8 inches (as shown, sheet slightly larger)
• Created in 2026
• Signed by the artist with his monogram cipher (PG), dated "2026" and inscribed "After Konstantin Somov?" , lower left; inscribed with the title and signed again with the artist's full name on the reverse
• Will ship with a Certificate of Authenticity detailing the story behind the piece
