"Wings of Glass" Original Painting on Panel
| Wings of Glass is a parable-in-a-picture of the inherent fragility of our hopes and dreams, composed as a mashup of imagery: Andrea Saachi’s c. 1645 oil “Daedalus and Icarus” is reimagined with the addition of body paint à la Keith Haring, as recorded in Annie Leibovitz’s well-known photograph; wings improbably fashioned of stained glass; Superman’s cape; and a colorful canine, with a certain resemblance to Haring’s iconic barking dogs, seems to be sounding a warning ⊕Supersize image Opens in new browser window (best on desktop)
