- A riff on a ca. 1810 French academic study of a nude discovered online, once attributed to Géricault and recently auctioned by Sotheby's
- Made with artist's acrylic paints, finished with a tinted oil-based gloss varnish, on a cradled panel
- Framed in a gold (metal leaf) moulding from Larson-Juhl that was converted into a one-of-a-kind float frame and painted and patinated by the artist expressly for The Night Gardener
- Panel measures 12 by 12 inches; measures 15-7/8 by 15-7/8 inches framed
- Created in 2023
- Signed by the artist with his monogram cipher (PG) and dated "2023", lower left; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
