- Artist's note: The Longing is a dream-like 'mashup' inspired by a circa 1890 photograph entitled Stern Realities by Francis Meadow Sutcliffe (English, 1853-1941), with additional references to Mickey Mouse, Coca-Cola and the iconic advertising illustration His Master's Voice
- Made with artist's acrylic paints on a 3/4 inch deep cradled panel
- Image measures 12 by 12 inches
- Created in April 2021
- Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG) and dated "2021" , lower right/center; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
