About this work: "The Struggle" is a mashup of iconic imagery: a 1915 illustration by American artist Perham Wilhelm Nahl entitled "The 13th Labor of Hercules"; a U.S. Army photograph of a grief stricken American infantryman comforted by another soldier (Korea, 1950); and, of course, elements of Picasso's "Guernica"
