- Artist's note: Inspired by a well-known c.1615 oil on canvas in the Musei di Strada Nuova by Guido Reni (1575–1642), Sebastian Ascendant is an original miniature painting first mounted to a wooden panel, then developed further and elaborated — creating an icon-like, 'faux' framed, unique objet d'art
- Made with artist's acrylic paints and touches of other media, including iridescent gold paints, on a 3/4 inch deep cradled wooden panel with raised portions created from cut 4-ply board (matboard); varnished with an archival UV-filtering gloss varnish
- Image measures 10 by 8 inches
- Created in May 2021
- Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG), lower right/center; signed again with his full name, dated and inscribed with the title on the reverse
