"Fleeting"

Philip Gladstone's "Fleeting" is a contemporary mashup of two seventeenth-century depictions of Saint Sebastian — at left Sebastian as imagined by Italian painter Guido Reni (mirrored), and at right by Spanish artist Jusepe de Ribera (see last two pictures on this page for the source images)

• "Fleeting" is an original mixed-media work on paper by Philip Gladstone
• Made with watercolor, pen-and-ink, colored pencils and Windsor & Newton pigmented markers with sgrafitto and touches of gold metallic paint (in the border) on white clay-coated paper
• Image measures 12-1/8 by 18 inches (as shown, sheet slightly lager)
• Created in July 2019
• Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG) and dated "2019", lower right; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
