From the studio of Philip Gladstone: "We're Better Than This", a signed and numbered limited edition giclée after the artist's original mixed-media painting
Philip Gladstone's "We're Better Than This" appropriates the nude from Horace Bristol's iconic U.S Navy photograph "The Naked Gunner, Rescue at Rabaul, 1944" and incongruously places Bristol's Airman in a vintage, now obsolete phone booth on a littered 'planet', embellished with references to Coca-Cola, Warhol's Campbell's Soup can and his Brillo box — all composed as a visual parable for our uncertain times, with a nod to the comforting, magical imagery of Saint-Exupéry's "The Little Prince"
