"The Listeners" is an original acrylic painting on cradled panel by Philip Gladstone
- About: "The Listeners", a new addition to Philip Gladstone's long-running Tubs Series, is an original mashup of iconic imagery, including Jacques-Louis David's 1780 oil "Study of Patroclus", painter and illustrator Francis Barraud's 1898 advertising painting "His Master's Voice", and a representation of Mickey Mouse adapted from a circa 1930 German postcard
- Made with artist's acrylic paints on a 3/4 inch deep cradled wooden panel
- Image measures 16 by 16 inches
- Created in January 2022
- Signed by the artist with his monogram (PG) and dated "2022", lower left/center; signed again with his full name and inscribed with the title on the reverse
